our fun summer vacation

So this summer, we decided to have our family vacation be right where we already were. We had gone to Utah for the Redd family reunion so decided to just extend our stay a week and have it be our family vacation. On Sunday Brittany left us to go stay with the Whites for some wonderful adventures there and then on to Lake Powell and Monticello with her G-parents.

We started out on Monday, the day after the reunion, by driving up to Idaho falls and staying with Brigham and Heather. We had so dang much fun. They are some of the funnest people to be around and Heather is an awesome cook so we loved the eatin' too. We swam in their community pool (that is almost a private pool). We had a super fun time riding the four wheeler. We played lots and visited lots and just had a wonderful time. We would have loved to stay longer but alas they were headed to Canada so we took off on Wednesday morning.

Wednesday we spent the day in Logan at Grandma Lou's home. We had a fun lunch, Alli and I got haircuts, and the kids loved swimming in the pool. We also went with uncle Kent to look at some land that we are still considering buying. It was a nice day.

We slept back in Farmington on Wednesday night and then on Thursday we went to Grantsville and had a fun lunch with the Tripps. Again, the kids had a wonderful time playing and then we went out to the Great Salt Lake.

It was VERY salty and dirty but soo cool to float without any effort. I pulled my knees up to my chest and still floated. You could just sit back like you were in a chair and you really wouldn't sink. It was a little bit stingy on any little cuts or if it got in your eyes but really it was very cool. I'm so glad we took the kids to do that. I think it is such a unique experience and one that anyone that has the chance to ought to try.

Friday was our Salt Lake City day. We got to go see temple square, the Beehive house, the Church Office Bldg, the Visitor Center, and the Church History Museum. After all of our touring, we hurried home and changed and went back for Grammy's (The Mormon Tabernacle Choir) concert. What a fabulous day.

We finished off the week with a relaxing day on Saturday at the Redd home in Farmington. Sunday we drove back home to CS. We left Allison there in Farmington to go to Lake Powell and Monticello with Grammy, Grandad and some of the cousins and Aunts and Uncles of that age group. It had been a long time away but oh so much fun.
